Soccer: The agony of defeat

Underhill was taken out of the game, but brought back in within the last four minutes. Springport lost the Division 4 soccer district championship game to Dansville 1-0 on Friday evening at Jackson Christian High School."It's dissapointing. I wanted to win," she said. "It was a good game, a heartfelt game. We haven't been able to beat Dansville for four years, but know that we never gave up in this game."

Fires, fires and more fires

Two separate fires, only two days apart.

Lightning Fire 05.31.10

A firefighter laughs while standing on the roof of a home at 7254 Concerto Court in Spring Arbor as water splashes up at him while they shovel dirt and pry of siding from the house. Fire officials said a lightning strike through the roof into the attic started the fire.

Memorial Day

Last day of preschool

Brady Dillon of Jackson, 4, runs around the lawn Thursday morning outside of Sharp Park Academy playing with a ball celebrating the last day of preschool for the school year. The instructors put on a luau-themed party for the children to celebrate their final day of class. "It's sad to see it end," said paraprofessional Carol Bibbins. "It's been a wonderful year. It truly has and we had had just such a great group of kids. It's too bad it has to end."
