Lucas Messier of Newburgh, 3, pretended to steer a tractor Monday during a 10-wagon hayride from Ferdinand to Bristow. The hayride is a tradition that started 15 years ago when Ferdinand resident Bob Demuth's family was having a party that ended in a hayride. Since, it has grown to about 70 friends and family members riding to different destinations each year, mostly within Dubois and Perry counties.
